Health Service Planning Meeting Held at Baji Rout Hostel, Recognized as an Educational Hub
Date: 31.07.2024 (Wednesday)
On the occasion of the 78th anniversary of India’s Independence, an emergency meeting was held at Baji Rout Hostel—considered the educational hub of Angul district—for conducting health check-ups of resident students.
More than a hundred students live in the hostel and study at nearby schools and colleges. Due to seasonal changes, many of them are facing various health issues. Often, due to their academic schedule, it is not possible for them to visit health centers and seek medical advice. During the rainy season, common ailments such as cold, fever, cough, and various contagious skin diseases are widespread.

Taking this into consideration, a meeting was held under the leadership of senior Gandhian and Sarvodaya leader Krishna Mohanty. Key participants included Pradeep Tripathi, Chairperson of Citizen-Centric Services under the International Council for Education, Employment, and Empowerment, and State Coordinator Padmalochan Mohapatra.
With student health as a top priority, the meeting proposed organizing a free health camp on the hostel premises next month. Experienced doctors will conduct free health check-ups for the resident students, and medicines will also be distributed. A date has already been fixed for this program.
In the concluding part of the meeting, Mrs. Mohanty suggested organizing the health camp on a holiday so that it would be more beneficial for the students. This suggestion received unanimous approval, and the date was accordingly confirmed.
