135 Units of Blood Collected with Support of Kakatpur Police and Education Development Trust

Kakatpur – 23/02/2024:
Based on the belief that blood donation is the greatest donation, a mega blood donation camp was organized at the Kakatpur Police Station premises with the support of the local police and the Education Development Trust. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from the youth of the Kakatpur region.

Keeping in mind that numerous patients depend on daily blood transfusions to survive, the initiative taken by the Kakatpur Police was highly commendable. The main objective of the camp was to ensure that no patient, especially children suffering from thalassemia, dies due to the unavailability of blood.

The Education Development Trust extended full support to the organization of the camp. This effort by the Kakatpur Police also aimed to strengthen the bond between the police and the general public, a move that was welcomed by the local intellectual community.

The camp was inaugurated by Puri District Additional SP Vishnuprasad Pati, Nimapada SDPO Prabhat Kumar Mallik, Cuttack Red Cross Director Dr. Chandrika Prasad Das, Director of the Education Development Trust Prashant Kumar Sahu, Kakatpur IIC Umesh Chandra Sahu, and Founder of the Education Development Trust Dibyaranjan Sahu. Also present were Kailash Chandra Das, Executive Officer of Maa Mangala Temple Trust; Kamal Lochan Dixit, President of Kakatpur Press Club; Tushar Ranjan Dixit, Vice President of the Club; along with several media representatives.

Notably, Tushar Dixit, a member of the Temple Advisory Committee and Vice President of Kakatpur Press Club, became the first donor at the camp, encouraging others to participate.

A total of 135 units of blood were collected during the camp. The collection was conducted by doctors and staff from the Cuttack Red Cross.
