Don’t Be Alarmed by the Loud Alert Sound on Your Phone
This morning, many people noticed a loud alert sound from their phones, followed by a message saying, “Yes, this is a test. Don’t panic.”
This is an important notice for all mobile users. Since early morning, mobile phones have been receiving an emergency alert message, which has raised concerns and confusion among users. People are wondering who is sending this message, why it’s being sent, and what the purpose behind it is.
You may receive such a message on your phone with a distinct sound and vibration, indicating an emergency situation. However, please do not panic — this message does not signal any real emergency. It is part of a planned testing procedure conducted by the Department of Telecommunications, Government of India, in collaboration with the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).
The purpose of this system is to ensure public safety and preparedness in case of actual emergencies.
