Priests Delighted to Receive Winter Garments
Guided by the principle “Service is the Supreme Duty,” the Utkal Bidwat Parishad has commenced its annual winter garment distribution program this year.
As in previous years, the program began with the distribution of winter clothing to hundreds of Brahmins associated with the Mukti Mandap and Pandit Sabha of the Srimandir. The event took place at the Mandap near the southern gate of the Srimandir.
Present at the occasion were Manoj Rath (President of Utkal Bidwat Parishad), Ajit Mishra (Secretary of Mukti Mandap), Umaballabh Mahapatra (Vice President of the Mukti Mandap Pandit Sabha), and Raghunath Mishra (Joint Secretary). They collectively distributed winter garments and honorarium (dakshina) to the Brahmins.
The Brahmins, deeply pleased by the gesture, chanted blessings and prayers for the welfare of the world. The event was managed by Vijay Krishna Brahma (Secretary, Utkal Bidwat Parishad), Kamalakanta Acharya (Treasurer), members Biranchi Mishra, Divya Ranjan Dash, Smt. Jyoti Mahapatra, Bhawani Samantray, and Rajendra Patra.
President Manoj Mishra informed that in the coming days, the Utkal Bidwat Parishad will also distribute winter garments to various underprivileged and neglected sections of society.
