Diyas to Be Lit in All Temples of Odisha on the Occasion of Deba Deepabali
On the invitation of the Chhatisa Nijog of Puri, temple servitors from across Odisha came together. On the occasion of Deba Deepabali on the upcoming 13th, lamps will be lit in all temples across the state of Odisha.
At the invitation of the servitors of the Chhatisa Nijog of the Puri Srimandir, a significant meeting was held today, bringing together members of the Odisha Temple Servitors’ Association as well as servitors from various temples across the state to Puri. This meeting, presided over by Shri Janardana Patjoshi Mahapatra, the Nayak (chief) of the Chhatisa Nijog, took place at the Gangamata Math in Puri.
The primary topics of discussion were how Deba Deepabali will be celebrated in Puri Srimandir and in every temple across Odisha, how district-level meetings of the association will be conducted across all districts of Odisha, and how the inauguration of the Srimandir Parikrama project will be celebrated in a grand and vibrant manner.
With unanimous consent, it was decided that on the 11th, a grand celebration will be held at the Puri Srimandir, and on the 13th, lamp offerings (Deepadaan) will be conducted in all temples of Odisha.
On this occasion, the President of the Odisha Temple Servitors’ Association, Kameswar Tripathy, and the Secretary, Singhari Alok Khuntia, appealed to all Odias to collectively offer lamps in every temple across Odisha on the 13th.
Today’s meeting saw participation from servitors of the Puri Srimandir, Alarnath Temple, Sakhigopal Temple, Kakatpur Temple, Baripada Jagannath Temple, Biraja Temple of Jajpur, Srigopal Temple, Akhandalamani Temple, Nilgiri Jagannath Temple, and Shiruli Mahavir Temple, among others.
