Shraddha Anniversary of Former Minister Late Gangadhar Mohapatra Observed
Satyabadi, 05.04.24 (Saswat TV): The 88th Shraddha (death anniversary) of the legendary son of the soil, renowned freedom fighter, eminent lawyer, and former minister Late Gangadhar Mohapatra was observed with devotion and reverence in Satyabadi.
On this occasion, his son, senior Odisha High Court advocate Umaballav Mohapatra, along with senior lawyer Pushkar Mohapatra, Bipin Dalai, Satyabadi Seba Trust Secretary and advocate Sushant Kumar Rath, and Sarpanch of Bishwanathpur Gram Panchayat, Sarbeswar Sadanangi, were present.
The program began with floral tributes to the Panchasakha (the five great reformers) in Satyabadi. Following that, special prayers and rituals were performed at the family deity Sri Sri Gopinath Dev temple in Gangadhar Mohapatra’s native village Bishwanathpur, where his statue was also garlanded in tribute.
Later, the group visited Gopinath Dev Nodal Vidyapitha, where a commemorative program was held under the chairmanship of Headmaster Prashant Kumar Tripathy, in the presence of students and faculty. There, discussions were held about the life and legacy of Late Gangadhar Mohapatra.
On this occasion, students who secured first place in classes VI, VII, VIII, and IX—Rashmita Parida, Trushnajali Bishwal, Chiranjibi Bishoi, and Satyajit Satapathy—were awarded cash prizes by the Gangadhar Mohapatra Memorial Committee for their academic excellence.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by school teacher Damodar Mishra.
