Brown Sugar Peddler Caught by Satyabadi Police

A brown sugar peddler who had long been deceiving the Satyabadi Police while running his illegal trade has finally been arrested. On Friday, police apprehended the accused and seized 12.5 grams of brown sugar from his possession. The accused has been produced in court, and a case has been registered under FIR No. 115/24 at Satyabadi Police Station, with further investigation underway.
According to reports, the Satyabadi Police received a tip-off that Jayanta Kumar Swain, a resident of Parajapada village, was involved in brown sugar trading near a culvert at Gabakunda. Acting on this intelligence, IIC Umesh Kumar Sahu and his team from Satyabadi Police Station conducted a raid at the specified location on Thursday. Upon spotting the police, the accused attempted to flee the scene but was quickly detained.
He was brought to the police station for interrogation, during which 12.5 grams of brown sugar, allegedly kept for sale and estimated to be worth around ₹1.2 lakh, was recovered from his possession.
During questioning, the accused admitted not only to selling brown sugar but also to using it himself. On Friday, he was presented before the court, confirmed IIC Umesh Kumar Sahu.
