Auto Overturns in Kakatpur, 4 Injured

Kakatpur, 30/04 (Tushar Dixit): Despite numerous public awareness campaigns conducted by the government urging adherence to road safety rules such as “Speed Kills, Safety Saves Lives,” real-life incidents often reveal how little these warnings are followed.

Today around noon, a passenger auto (registration number OR-02 BJ 0938) overturned near Jiunti Chhak in Astarang block. The auto was carrying two male and two female devotees from the famous Shakti Peetha, Maa Ukulei Thakurani Temple, and was headed toward Kakatpur when it lost balance and flipped onto the roadside.

With the help of local residents, all injured passengers were promptly sent to the Kakatpur Health Centre for treatment. On receiving information, the Astarang police reached the spot, took the driver to the station for further questioning, and cleared the accident site by towing the damaged auto with the help of another vehicle, thereby restoring normal traffic flow.
