Community Policing Program Held at Samudrik Police Station
Kakatpur, 17/02 (Tushar Dixit) – A grand cultural and musical community policing program was organized today by the police at the Samudrik Police Station located in Nuagaon, Astaranga. The main aim of the program was to strengthen ties between the police and the public, intellectuals, and students within the jurisdiction of the Samudrik Police Station and to encourage talented individuals.
The event was graced by Puri District Additional Superintendent of Police, Bishnuprasad Patti, as the chief guest. Other notable attendees included Nimapada SDPO Janardhan Padhi, Astaranga Tehsildar Priyanka Priyadarshini Patti, Astaranga BDO Sasmita Behera, Astaranga Block Chairperson Smt. Arati Nayak, Officer-in-Charge of Nuagaon Samudrik Police Station Achyutananda Behera, Officer-in-Charge of Astaranga Police Station Rajesh Baliyarsingh, and Nuagaon Samiti Member Ramchandra Nayak. The program was anchored by environmentalist Shobhakar Behera.
The chief guest and other dignitaries were welcomed with traditional shawls and flower bouquets. The event commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. Students from Nuagaon and Jhadalanga schools presented cultural performances including dance and music, creating a vibrant atmosphere.
Speakers highlighted the importance of strong public-police relations. Additional SP Patti emphasized that police service is always for the people and that community involvement in all police activities is essential.
As part of the celebrations, various competitions such as races, dance, instrumental music, elocution, slow cycling, and spoon-potato races were organized in schools from Nuagaon and Jhadalanga Panchayats. In addition, cricket and volleyball tournaments were held with participation from local youth. Students and players who excelled in these events were awarded certificates and prizes on stage.
Senior citizens and notable individuals from the region were honored for their contributions to various developmental activities under the police station’s jurisdiction. Several police personnel were also awarded for their outstanding service. The program saw active participation from intellectuals, politicians, students, and youth from Nuagaon and Jhadalanga Panchayats.
