Suspicious Bird Rescued from Nanpur Village in Astaranga
Kakatpur, 15/3: A suspicious bird has been rescued from Nanpur village under Astaranga police station limits. According to sources, the bird had been roaming around the village for the past eight days, and villagers had noticed it. On Wednesday around 5 PM, while the bird was sitting near the pet bird of local resident Rupan Pati, he managed to trap it using a net.
After capturing the bird, he informed the police. Upon receiving the information, a team led by Astaranga Police Station officials and Panchanan Parida, the officer-in-charge of the Nuagaon Marine Police Station, reached the spot and began an investigation.
During the investigation, it was found that the bird had a brass tag on one leg and a plastic ring on the other. The brass tag was inscribed with “Ready VSP DN”, while the plastic ring had the number “31”, along with three stamped marks.
The police have temporarily kept the bird in the custody of the homeowner. The investigating officer informed media representatives that a special investigation team from the district would arrive the following day, after which more concrete information could be revealed.
