Maa Mangala Temple Radiates Festive Spirit for First Phase of Jhamu Yatra
Kakatpur:
The sacred month of Chaitra has begun, and from today, the famous month-long Jhamu Yatra begins at the revered temple of Goddess Maa Mangala in Kakatpur, Puri district. A Neta Utsav was held at the temple today, followed by the observance of the First Phase of the Yatra.
With COVID restrictions lifted after two years, a massive turnout of devotees is expected this year. In preparation for ensuring the peaceful and orderly conduct of all phases of the yatra and the famed Jhamu Yatra, a preparatory meeting was held by the Maa Mangala Temple administration.
All arrangements have been made by the Maa Mangala Temple Trust Board, according to Kakatpur Tehsildar and Trust Board Chairman, Biranchi Narayan Behera.
Temple Executive Officer Kailash Chandra Das stated that the temple doors would open at 4 AM, and daily rituals of the deity would be conducted, after which the main doors of the temple would be opened for devotees.
To ensure disciplined darshan for devotees arriving from distant places, entry will be allowed through the East Gate of the temple via barricades, and exit will be through the North Gate.
Traffic arrangements have been intensified. Police forces will be deployed both inside and outside the temple. Information centers, medical camps, and drinking water facilities will be provided. The fire department will sprinkle water over the crowd to offer relief from heat, and full cooperation from various departments has been arranged.
It was decided in the meeting that Kamala Lochan Dixit would serve as the Palia Sevak (designated servitor) and Raghunath Dixit as the Pujapanda (ritual priest) for the first phase of the yatra.
With the commencement of this event, the temple of Maa Mangala and the entire Kakatpur region has become immersed in festive celebrations.
