Financial Aid Distributed Under Construction Workers Welfare Scheme
Kakatpur, 30/08 – On Wednesday, a financial aid distribution camp under the Construction Workers Welfare Scheme was organized at the local Moti Kalyan Mandap. The camp was inaugurated by Odisha’s Minister of Sports, Youth Services, Technical Education, and Home Affairs, Shri Tusharkanti Behera.
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Puri Zilla Parishad Vice President Swadhin Kumar Nayak, Astarang BDO Bebita Manjari Nayak, Puri District Labor Commissioner Shiba Shankar Mishra, Labor Officer Subrata Jena, former Zilla Parishad President Jyotirmaya Dalai, MP representative of Jagatsinghpur Gnyanaranjan Sahu, and Kakatpur Block Biju Janata Dal President Pranakrishna Mallik, among others.
In his inaugural address, Labor Commissioner Shibashankar Patra informed the attending laborers — both male and female — who have been working for over a year as construction workers, about the procedures to apply for and obtain labor cards, how to avail various government assistance schemes, and how to renew their labor cards.
On this occasion, 317 skilled, semi-skilled, and unskilled male and female workers were provided with financial assistance in the form of checks amounting to a total of ₹1 crore 55 lakh 33 thousand 400. The aid covered death benefits, marriage assistance for laborers’ sons and daughters, and educational assistance.
The event was coordinated by Assistant Labor Commissioner Shri Mishra, with support from members of the Puri District Construction and Industrial Workers Union, Astarang, and Astarang Mazdoor Sangha. The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Labor Officer Shri Jena.
