Congress Demands ₹20 Lakh Compensation for Deceased Farmers from Astaranga Region
Kakatpur (Tushar Dixit), Dated 14/06 – This morning, a tragic road accident occurred at Jagannathpur involving a pickup van that was transporting 16 farmers from the Astaranga–Kakatpur region to the Panmandi area in Pipili. In the incident, Jogendra Swain from Chatiana village in Astaranga and Sarat Sahu from Kendrapati village lost their lives, while several other farmers were injured.
Upon learning of the unfortunate event, Odisha Pradesh Kisan Congress President Amiya Kumar Pattnaik expressed deep sorrow over the deaths of the two farmers and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.
He urged the state government to provide immediate financial assistance of ₹20 lakh each to the bereaved families of the deceased farmers, Jogendra and Sarat, as compensation, and also demanded prompt medical treatment for the injured.
