Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw Assures Construction of Underpass at Sakhigopal

Following the strong interest and initiative of Hon’ble Chief Minister of Odisha, Shri Mohan Charan Majhi, and Hon’ble MP Dr. Sambit Patra, discussions were recently held on February 23, 2025, regarding the Sakhigopal railway overbridge. During a meeting with the Sakhigopal Displaced Market Committee, Hon’ble MLA of Satyabadi, Shri Om Prakash Mishra, addressed the issue and extended full support to the local community.
Based on the committee’s demand, the MLA had requested that instead of an overbridge at the railway crossing, an underpass be constructed to better serve the needs of the common people. To push for a resolution, the MLA met with Union Railway Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw in Delhi today and discussed the matter in detail.
In honor of Utkal Mani Gopabandhu Das and reflecting the Minister’s deep affection and respect for the people of Satyabadi, Shri Vaishnaw assured the MLA that the demand would soon be fulfilled. He gave a firm commitment that an underpass would be constructed at the Sakhigopal railway crossing—not an overbridge—to facilitate smooth vehicular movement and to support the interests of the Displaced Market Committee.
This development is expected to bring great relief and convenience to the local residents.
