First Death Anniversary of Senior Journalist’s Father Observed

The first death anniversary rituals of the late father of senior journalist Niranjan Das from Astaranga block in Puri district were observed today. The event was held at the Shiva Temple near Kaongarpur in Astaranga block. According to sources, Niranjan Das’s late father, Rajkishore Das, passed away in November last year while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar due to critical health conditions. Rajkishore Das was well-known in the Astaranga region as a devout, dedicated, and compassionate individual.
With today marking one year since his passing, the family organized the first annual “Shraddha” ceremony. As part of the observance, food and clothing were distributed to a number of underprivileged individuals. The memorial event saw the participation of several intellectuals, businessmen, senior citizens, journalists, and social workers from Astaranga and Kakatpur blocks. All attendees prayed for the eternal peace of Rajkishore Das’s soul and also met with the bereaved family before partaking in the offering (prasada) at the Shiva Temple.
The program was led by his eldest son, senior journalist Niranjan Das, and was attended by his wife Savita Das, younger son Suresh Chandra Das, grandson Ayushman Das, granddaughters Barsha Das and Sonalika Das, along with many family members, friends, and well-wishers.
