Yadupur Bhubaneswar Enters Final of State-Level Sarala Cup After Defeating DRCC Paradip
Kakatpur, 30th January – The first semifinal match of the 30th State-Level Sarala Cup Cricket Tournament, held at Narendra Stadium in Astaranga, took place on Monday. The match was played between DRCC Paradip and Yadupur Bhubaneswar.
Winning the toss, Yadupur Bhubaneswar opted to bat first. In the allotted 20 overs, the team scored a massive 249 runs for the loss of just 3 wickets. Star player S.R. Senapati led the charge with a sensational 131 runs off 58 balls, which included 9 fours and 11 sixes. For DRCC Paradip, bowler Swadhin Das bowled 4 overs and managed to take 1 wicket.
In response, DRCC Paradip, chasing a target of 250 runs, could only manage 200 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in their 20 overs, thereby accepting defeat. For Paradip, Bhavani Mohanty scored 66 runs off 35 balls, hitting 3 fours and 7 sixes.
For his outstanding performance, S.R. Senapati was awarded the Man of the Match. The award was presented by Yugal Kishore Mohanty, president of Sarala Sporting Club.
The match was graced by several dignitaries including club advisors Dibakar Chattoi and Hrushikesh Chattoi, journalists Samir Kumar Kar and Aditya Kumar Raut, and guests Ashwini Mohanty, Lokanath Swain, Priyabrata Muduli, Bijay Kumar Behera, and Arya Kumar Biswal.
Prakash Kumar Behera and Durgacharan Maharana officiated the match as umpires.
According to organizing club’s vice president Prakash Kumar Behera, the second semifinal will be held on Tuesday between Kumarbasta Khordha and Mahaveer Sporting Puri.
