16th Mahaveer Cup Day-Night Cricket Tournament: Patapur Cricket Club Crowned Champion
Kakatpur, 30th January – The 16th Mahaveer Cup Day-Night Cricket Tournament was successfully organized over three days at the Dharmashala Padia near Kakatpur. A total of 16 teams participated in this tournament. In the final match, Patapur Cricket Club (BCC) defeated Olavara Jagatsinghpur (MDCC) to emerge as the champions.
The tournament was graced by several chief guests, including Dr. Kedar Nath Dixit, Abhaya Kumar Sethi, the Sarpanch of Kakatpur Gram Panchayat, along with Saroj Samal, Ratikanta Behera, Suryakanta Dixit, Kailash Chandra Das, Pradeepta Kumar Dixit, and Salil Ranjan Dixit. They jointly presented trophies and cash prizes to the champion team and the runner-up team.
Members of Maa Kakateswari Youth Club – Lipu, Sonu, Amu, Lalu, Ladu, Lucky, Sikun, Rajuwa, Sachin, Kahna, Rakan, Ashish, Parshu, Babul, and others – played key roles in organizing and managing the tournament.
