24th Annual Sports Competition Celebrated at Regional Vidyaniketan Sundarmundi High School
Kankadahada, 21/12: The 24th Annual Sports Competition was celebrated with great enthusiasm at the premises of Regional Vidyaniketan Sundarmundi High School, located in Ghagramunda Panchayat under Kankadahada Block. The event was held under the chairmanship of the school’s headmaster, Tridib Mishra.
District Council Member Nabakishore Sahu attended as the chief guest and stated that such competitions create an excellent platform for discovering and showcasing hidden talents from rural areas. The keynote speaker, Rajes Kumar Dehuri, General Secretary of the Dhenkanal District Biju Yuva Janata Dal, said that sports are an essential part of education. Not only do they promote good health among students, but they also enhance mental abilities. He emphasized that to become an ideal student, one should engage in regular physical exercise and sports activities every day.
Distinguished guests included School Managing Committee President Alekh Sahu, CRC Satyasundar Singh, and former committee members Kulamani Singh, Bharat Singh, and Dambharudhar Sahu, as well as Ward Member Bipin Bihari Singh, who all graced the occasion with their presence.
Students of the school actively participated in various events including long jump, high jump, javelin throw, football, volleyball, and kabaddi. The guests presented awards to the winning participants as a gesture of encouragement.
Teachers such as Kalakar Sahu, Ratikanta Sethi, and Mami Sahu contributed to the smooth organization of the event, while physical education teacher Saroj Sahu coordinated the sports competitions. The program concluded with a vibrant cultural performance.
