Juvenile Reaches Final Defeating Rameswar
Kakatpur (Tushar Dixit) | Dated 30/12 – In the ongoing 34th Mangala Cup at Kakatpur Mini Stadium, the second semi-final match was played today between Rameswar Sporting (Bhubaneswar) and Juvenile Sporting (Cuttack).
Juvenile Sporting won the toss and opted to bat first. In the stipulated 25 overs, the team managed to score 210 runs. Key contributions came from Ramchandra Behera, who scored 84 runs, and Suraj Maharana, who added 42 runs. On the bowling side, Ashutosh Nayak from Rameswar Sporting took 3 wickets.
Chasing a target of 211 runs, Suryans Kumar from Rameswar scored 69 runs and Nihar Bhuinya added 25 runs. However, the team could only manage 192 runs for 8 wickets in the full 25 overs, thereby conceding defeat.
From Juvenile Sporting, Ramchandra Behera also took 3 wickets and was adjudged Man of the Match for his all-round performance.
Guests for today’s semi-final match included Himanshu Bhushan Dixit, advisor of Mangala Club; social worker and youth journalist Aditya Kumar Raut; and Pyar Mohammad, proprietor of Brand Factory. They collectively presented the Man of the Match award to Ramchandra Behera.
The match was officiated by two Odisha Cricket Association-approved umpires – Nirmal Kumar Mishra and Ayeskant Mishra.
The final match of the tournament will be played on Sunday, January 7, between Unique Eleven (Bhadrak) and Juvenile Sporting (Cuttack), as announced by Pradipta Kumar Dixit, President of the organizing club.
Others present and involved in managing the event included Secretary Shubhranshu Dixit, Treasurer Suryakant Dixit, Joint Secretary Sanjay Samal, Manager Bhagabat Swain, and members Shyamsundar Rana, Chandrakant Dixit, and Sushanta Dash.
