Kakatpur (Tushar Dixit) | Dated 30/12 – The famous and sacred Shakti Peetha of Goddess Mangala in Kakatpur, Puri district, situated amidst nature’s serene beauty, continues to attract countless devotees and tourists from within and outside Odisha. Currently, several development initiatives have been undertaken by the Odisha State Government to beautify and enhance the surroundings of the temple.
Today, Hon’ble Governor of Odisha, Raghubar Das, visited the Mangala Temple at 11:00 AM, where he offered darshan and prayers to the presiding deity, Goddess Mangala. Upon arrival at the temple, he was welcomed near the Singhadwara (main entrance) by Trustee of the Mangala Temple Trust Board and local Tahsildar Ankita Anindita, Executive Officer Kailash Chandra Das, Vice-President of the Sevayat Nijog Kamal Lochan Dixit, Advisor Committee members Tushar Ranjan Dixit and Tapas Dixit, along with other prominent sevayats, who greeted him with flower bouquets and accompanied him into the temple.
Inside the sanctum sanctorum, the Governor performed ritualistic worship of Goddess Mangala. Following the darshan, the temple management committee presented him with a framed photo of the Goddess and an honorary stole as a memento. On behalf of the sevayats, he was also offered the traditional Adhara Pana (a sacred offering).
At the end of the visit, the sevayats bestowed blessings upon the Governor. On his return journey to Puri, the Governor made a first-time stop at Biribasta, where he interacted with local farmers and discussed their issues. He later visited the premises of the Ishaneswar Mahadev Temple, where he held discussions with members of women self-help groups (SHGs).
Extensive security arrangements were made by the local police administration to ensure the Governor’s safety during the visit.
