Annual Sports Meet Celebrated at Kakatpur High School
Kakatpur, 09/02/2024:
A two-day Annual Sports Meet was held at the Government High School, Kakatpur. The event was organized under the chairmanship of Headmaster Shri Skanta Kumar Swain. On this occasion, Block Education Officer of Kakatpur, Shri Dillip Kumar Jena, attended as the chief guest and emphasized in his speech that sports play a vital role in the physical and mental development of both boys and girls.
The first day of the event began with a ceremonial torch relay brought from the sacred Maa Mangala Temple. Various athletic competitions were held for both senior and junior categories, including long jump, high jump, running, discus throw, and shot put. More than 300 students participated in these events.
In the boys’ senior category, Sec Safitulla, a student of Class IX, was declared champion, while in the girls’ senior category, Pritipriya Parida, also from Class IX, earned the championship title. In the junior category, Ronak Baral and Pritiprajna Swain, both from Class VIII, were declared champions.
The event was smoothly conducted with the coordination and efforts of the school’s physical education teacher Satya Narayan Sethi, senior teachers Pratap Raut, Pitabas Dixit, Geetanjali Behera, Swapna Mahapatra, Kaveri Sethi, Sarojini Hansda, Pragati Prusty, and Dillip Kumar Kandi.
