Brahma Kamal Bloomed in Bankabehera’s Garden, Offered at Lord Jagannath’s Feet
A rare and divine Brahma Kamal flower has bloomed at the residence of Bankanidhi Behera in Pakhimunda village, under Das Bidyadharpur Panchayat of Satyabadi Block in Puri district. This rare flower is only found in a few specific locations and is considered extremely special.
Upon hearing about the blooming, hundreds of locals gathered to witness the rare sight. The Brahma Kamal is known to be a favorite flower of Lord Jagannath. According to mythology, it originated from Lord Brahma himself, which is why it is named “Brahma Kamal” and holds deep spiritual significance.
The flower begins to bloom in the evening and reaches full bloom after midnight. Inspired by its divine nature, Bankanidhi decided to offer the flower at the feet of Lord Jagannath.
On the evening of August 7, as the flower began to bloom, the atmosphere turned devotional with the sounds of jhuna, dhoopa (incense), shankha (conch), ghanta (bell), and mrudanga (drum), accompanied by melodious Harinam bhajans.
Later that evening, the flower was ceremoniously offered to Lord Jagannath by a Sankirtan group, marking a moment of spiritual fulfillment and devotion.
