Paddy Procurement Center Inaugurated at Kendrapati Panchayat
Kakatpur, Date: 20/01 — A paddy procurement center was inaugurated on Friday morning at Kendrapati under the Astaranga block of Puri district by the Kendrapati Seva Cooperative Society. As per the directive of the State Government’s Department of Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare, the cooperative society has begun paddy procurement operations.
The mandi (procurement center) was inaugurated by the society’s chairman, Ashwini Kumar Raut. Among the dignitaries present were Sukanta Charan Khuntia, Co-operative Extension Officer of Astaranga Block; Durjaya Kumar Mishra, Vice Chairman of Astaranga Block; Kendrapati Sarpanch Lakshmipriya Kandi; Society Secretary Ramakrushna Mohanty; and farmers including Prabhat Kumar Mohanty, Niranjan Biswal, and Pramod Kishore Muduli. More than 20 farmers attended the event.
On the first day, paddy was procured from 22 farmers, totaling 780 quintals. The paddy was sold to Mahima Rice Mill located in Yogeswarpur, according to information provided by Secretary Mr. Mohanty.
