Odisha’s Renowned Faces Dr. Prasanna Kumar Patasani and “Silver Gandhi” Join BJP
New Delhi, 08.06.2024 (Saswat TV) – Today in New Delhi, prominent veteran leader of Odisha, poet Dr. Prasanna Kumar Patasani, formally joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Dr. Patasani has a distinguished political career, having served five consecutive terms as a Member of Parliament from the Bhubaneswar Lok Sabha constituency, four terms as an MLA from Khordha, and also as a Cabinet Minister. Currently, he is serving as a member of the State Planning Board. Besides his political journey, he is actively involved in various cultural and social initiatives both within and outside Odisha.
Dr. Patasani is also widely known for his contributions to literature, art, and culture. He has authored numerous poems, essays, and books, carving out a distinct identity in the literary world.
Joining the BJP alongside Dr. Patasani was Odisha’s well-known youth actor Mohan Mahapatra, famously referred to as the “Silver Gandhi.” Through various padyatras (public walks), he has spread messages of awareness, particularly contributing significantly to the “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan” across Odisha and other Indian states. For his dedicated work, he has received recognition and appreciation from the Hon’ble President of India, the Prime Minister, central leaders, and the Chief Minister of Odisha.
Inspired by the ideals of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Mohan Mahapatra has pledged to serve as an active member of the “Modi Sena” and work diligently for the Bharatiya Janata Party. A Hindi biopic titled “Silver Gandhi” is also being produced, based on his remarkable life and achievements.
